"This above all, to thine own self be true." ~William Shakespeare
Greetings lovely souls,
I am Writingangel2010. Welcome to my page! I don't know how you have happened upon my small area on DeviantArt, but please do feel free to look around. Most of my gallery is literature, but you will find drawings as well.
Here are just some quick, fun facts about me:
Current Residence: The land of corn and cattle
Favorite genre of music: It varies depending on my mood.
Favorite cartoon character: Jojo, from Horton Hears A Who
Lifestyle: I like my surroundings city, but my church country.
Feel free to note me, write a comment, look through my gallery...whatever. I'd love to get to know any and all of you that stop by here
I know it's not the traditional way of going about publishing but I've thought long and hard on making this decision and I've decided that this can no more hurt my writing career than just posting my works here on DeviantArt.
The story I've chosen to publish is a fiction-crime set in Georgia. It was once posted here but I completely re-edited it (although I did catch one spelling mistake when I read it after publishing *face meet palm*) and deleted it from this site. The main character is an elderly southern belle who has been carrying a secret around with her since the summer of 1956. Said secret becomes a burden after her best friend dies and a young man shows up on her doorstep asking how his grandpa had really disappeared.
The story is titled The Summer of 1956 and you can find it here if you'd like to purchase it. You don't have to, obviously, but I felt compared to share the link on here since the DeviantArt community and all of my watchers are part of the reason I even continue writing.
Happy holidays from deviantART!
'Twas the night before Christmas, when all through dA,
Not a troll was stirring, nor Grinch in his sleigh.
Deviations were hung in digital Galleries with care,
In hopes that +Favourites soon would be there.
The n00bs were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of Daily Deviations danced in their heads.
And Fella in his 'kerchief, and spyed with his night-light,
Had just settled down to log-off for the night,
When over in the Forums there arose such a clatter,
Fella sprang back online to see what was the matter.
To the browser window he flew like a flash,
Tore open the tabs and refreshed the cache.
When what to his art-loving eyes should appear,
But an animated sleigh and eight commissioned reindeer,
With a little old driver, so creative and slick,
Fella knew in a moment it must be St. Nick.
More rapid than broadband, his reindeer were famed,
After all his favorite art
Every discovery etches away at the mystery of the universe;
Yet, certain questions still persist:
Will the human race stretch its hand across the galaxy,
And snatch up the Milky Way like frontierland?
Will we build golden gates between stars and systems
As though their black, incalculable distances
Were merely bridgeable, conquerable rivers?
Will the claims of human commerce and social property
Continue expanding and expanding
Like the unaging, swelling span of space itself,
Infinitely, infinitely and without boundary?
Will these questions continue unfolding without end?
Or will the immense cosmos,
Floating in the waters of its own unknowable mystery,
Break open like a soap bubble,
And all answers vanish with the questioners?
Summer Card Project
No matter the reason, any stay in a hospital could use a little sunshine. And what better way to brighten a hospital stay than with art from the heart?
After nine successful years of DeviantArt's #HolidayCardProject, we've decided to bring the project to the summer months, for the first ever #SummerCardProject!
The idea behind this project is simple: create an inspirational card to brighten the day of someone staying in a hospital. If you're looking for even more incentive, every deviant who sends in a card will be given a free one-month Core Membership to DeviantArt.
Last December, the project received over 4,500 cards sent in from 2,000 deviants from 60 different countries/political regions. Cards are then divvied up and distributed by DeviantArt members to patients in local Los Ange
Simple and Sweet. Some souls are never saved.
Some souls slowly decay.
Some souls lie among
the living and the dead.
But when souls become lonely,
they find a friend.
When they get lonelier,
they make one instead.
But one thing you must always remember,
A soul is the control panel of the brain.
So if you corrupt this machine,
You'd be better off dead.
My Best FriendA position like a royal from her pierced tongue,
a tiara so girly that many would never dare her.
A voice of dominance, volume as well as content,
but her attitude is something that makes her great.
Feathers and dream catchers trapped in a pentagram,
Fears and panicking from a past not worth mentioning.
A daughter of a mother but never a father,
blood means nothing over law and documents.
A smile of joy replaced her bloody wrists,
yet mocked in the past for the way she is.
She's my best friend,
the best you can get.
I never thought I would...So often in my summer way
a breeze embrace of warm around
I dream a moment of a day
and catch a sound
A tone of laugh of doesn't care
I cannot shout your name inside
I cannot hear your smile, your hair
my thoughts elide
I follow on your smile
In rainy evenings, hear your laugh
My heart beats
I fall in runes
